Why visit?

Your body speaks to you through symptoms. What is yours reflecting?

Painful periods, recurrent headaches, insomnia, digestive upset, and anxiety are a few common examples of the body signaling that it needs some assistance.

Or possibly you can’t pinpoint what exactly is wrong, but recognize that something feels off. Let’s chat about it.

Heather is licensed and adept at treating a wide range of symptoms, from acne and allergies to heel pain. She is, however, particularly passionate about women’s health, mental health support, facial acupuncture, and energy work.

Traditional Chinese medicine uses pattern diagnosis, so a set of symptoms that might seem unrelated to some, can have resonance and context when explained to a trained practitioner. Energy work, guided by the chakra system and meridians, can also support healing on a subtle level.

what’s the best way forward?

We partner together to strategize a treatment plan personalized to your needs, concerns and lifestyle.

If you are struggling with pain that is more physical and acute in nature, (ex. a tweaked muscle from yoga), your appointments will focus on acupuncture, with manual therapies such as cupping or gua sha possibly added in.

If the goal is internal medicine (ex. regulating irregular menstrual cycles) or mental health support (ex. chronic anxiety), the foundations of the treatments will be acupuncture, energy work, and herbal medicine. Lifestyle and dietary recommendations are often added as well.

It’s possible for the physical and emotional to overlap, in fact, more often than not, they do. That is where the true beauty of traditional Chinese medicine lies. It effectively and safely treats the physical body, along with the shen simultaneously. The shen is a concept in Chinese medicine that translates to spirit + mind.
